About Our Founder

One typical early morning in 5th grade, Cathy Berger couldn’t perfect her outfit– a few pairs of shoes to try on and the choice was daunting. After walking three blocks to school and reaching down to pick up the cello bow in music, she gasped: she went to school wearing two different shoes! From early on Cathy’s attention to fashion was clear, and finding efficient ways to do things—especially getting dressed- became an eternal goal.

After earning a B.A. and M.B.A. in Business Administration, Cathy basked in the boredom of the lackluster finance world, all the while cultivating her vision of a fashion playground filled with relevant, practical, fun-filled classes where women can develop their unique image and fashion style --finally merging her fashion fixation with her desire for efficiency. She was just designated one of "The Top 40+ Top Women to Network With" by LinkedIn.

Ultimately, when you learn what it takes to make your image fabulous and can build a wardrobe around that, getting dressed for 5th grade or any occasion becomes a pleasure, not a chore. Voilà!

Judith Ann Graham, a former Miss New York State affiliated with the Miss America Organization, specializes in style development and personal branding awareness. She began her career in New York as a model and actress in television commercials and All My Children. As a style expert she is a frequent guest on TV networks such as CBS, FOX, ABC, NBC, and the show Late Night with David Letterman. Her work as a master makeup artist with traditional and airbrush makeup is well known. Judith is a certified member of the AICI (Association of Image Consultants International), FGI (Fashion Group International) and teaches at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Her publishing credits include My Bride Guide and Image Power.

John Mahdessian serves as President of Madame Paulette since he took over his father’s business in 1988 at the age of 22. He transformed Madame Paulette into an internationally renowned leader of cleaning, restoring and preserving of fine couture apparel, bridal gowns, vintage creations and interior furnishings. John is a member of the Fashion Guild International, Costume of Society of America, Council of Fashion Designers of America, and serves as Chairman of the Board for Fashion Donations. Mr. Mahdessian received a B.S. from Villanova University.

Dr. Anthony J. Panossian completed an accredited facial cosmetic surgery fellowship in Utah, including six years of extensive training in the full scope of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery specialty: face, jaw and neck surgery, bone grafting, all aspects of facial trauma, reconstruction of facial and jaw deformities, with his main concentration on facial cosmetic surgery.
He is one of a handful of NYS surgeons who are trained specialists in facial cosmetic surgery attending one of only five facial cosmetic surgery fellowship programs accredited by the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. His surgical specialties are Rhinoplasty, blepharoplasty (eye lid surgery), otoplasty, mentoplasty (chin implant), malarplasty (cheek implants), face lift, neck lift, brow lift,
lip augmentation, head/neck liposuction plus procedures including Botox, fillers, laser resurfacing, dermabrasion and chemical peels. Dr. Panossian is a member of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery.

	As a born and bred New Yorker, Eliza Parrilla exudes an aura of the most fashionable city in the world. Realizing that her style sense was operating fulltime as a venerable "magnet" for shopping and wardrobe questions, in 2009 Eliza launched her company Stylista Shopping Tours. Her team of style coaches customize wardrobe make-over tours for individuals, group tours such as the "Shoe & Handbag Tour" and a "New You" tour where apparel items are pre-selected for individual clients. Eliza’s experience in the worlds of fashion and music have allowed her entr’ee into some of the city’s most exclusive circles: She collaborated on the launch of luxury women’s footwear brand Edmundo Castillo which earned a CFDA Award, has hosted radio shows at top-rated NYC radio stations including 98.7 WRKS [KISS] FM and continues to work on photo shoots for world-renowned designers and musicians such as Ricky Martin. Eliza lives to share her love of New York's shopping treasures with Fashion Societé's stylistas.
	Carol Davidson, AICI, CIP is one of only 25 Certified Image Professionals (CIP) in New York. Her consulting business, Styleworks of Union Square, is one of the most sought after in the tri-state area and going strong since its inception in 1999. Besides working with private and corporate clients, she is a highly respected educator at Fashion Institute of Technology (FIT) and a volunteer for Dress For Success and Gilda's Club NYC. She is past president of the New York Tri-State chapter of the AICI.
	Samantha von Sperling, founder of POLISHED Social Image Consultants has been on the forefront of the image consulting industry for a decade. Raised in an ultra sophisticated family where entertaining international guests was de rigueur, refined manners, elegant dress, proper posture, the art of conversation, and ballroom dancing are second nature to her. Armed with a B. S. degree from New York University of Education and Performing Arts with a concentration in speech communications – also a classically trained ballroom dancer and actress – von Sperling offers the Fashion Societé audience a contemporary approach to the old concept of finishing. Samantha’s clients range from royal families, diplomats, politicians, celebrities, CEOs, companies big and small, regular “joes” to soccer moms. She has appeared in print publications such as The New York Times, TIME Magazine, O The Oprah Magazine, Bloomberg Businessweek, and The Wall Street Journal, to name a few. Samantha appears as a guest expert on numerous television programs, and currently writes her own column Ask Samantha for Time Square Chronicles.

	Emily Loftiss works as a TV Host, Professional Dancer and Model in NYC for the last 8 years. As a performer, she is one of the world famous Radio City Rockettes, performed in "Peepshow," Broadway National Tour "Dirty Rotten Scoundrels," "Leap of Faith" and "Josephine." On television, Emily has appeared on The Late Show with David Letterman, CBS's VH1 Fashion Rocks, CMT Top 20 Countdown, and was a Quarter finalist on MTV's WADE ROBSON PROJECT. She has worked on network commercials & national print work (including Vogue/Southern Living). Emily co-founded THE COMPETITIVE EDGE, which advises contestants for all aspects of competition for the Miss America and Miss USA program. Emily's background as a performer, model and make-up artist open the doors to discuss presentation, body image, fashion, trends and self worth to women. As a TV Host she specializes as a Celebrity Fashion Editor and Image Consultant. She is a recognized blogger where she discusses Fashion, Pop Culture, Beauty Tips and Lifestyle. She has worked for NBC, HSN, MTV, Time Warner, CHIC.TV and covers New York Fashion Week as well as the Hamptons International Film Festival.

	Terri Murray is the 2011 Plus Fit Model of the Year from Full Figured Fashion Week organization, and has been a working model for 17 years in New York City. Originally signed with FORD Models seven years ago, she currently works with the prestigious MSA MODELS where she also trains future models. Terri is nationally recognized as a lingerie/ intimate apparel expert, and has a personal passion for the plus size woman. Ms. Murray served as Regional Director of FGI (Fashion Group International) and is a past President of AICI New York Tri-State Chapter (Association of Image Consultants International). Terri works backstage during Fashion Week for Vera Wang, Charles Nolan, Vivian Westwood, Betsey Johnson, Isaac Mizrahi and at benefits such as Go Red at the Red Dress Event. She has styled Rachael Ray, Felice Rashad, Mary Hart, Joan Collins, Miss Universe, Billy Jean King, and America's Top Model Jaslene.
	Jim Pilger has the esteemed position as the Artistic Director of Education for the famed Cactus Salon empire. His expertise in speaking and educating industry professionals has been developed all along the east coast. He is widely respected for his highly trained eye, which has helped literally thousands transform their look into a new image loaded with fresh confidence and style.
	David Derex, M. Photog.Cr., AFP, CPP is a glamour photographer who has worked with celebrities, sports figures, business icons, and professional models since 1971. Besides being an exhibited artist, he is a respected lecturer, publisher of two books, and contributes to Vogue and many other publications. His forté is creating world class photographic and painted portraits of individuals & families. He is a past president of the North Region of the Professional Photography Association of New Jersey (PPANJ).
	Jacqueline Peros is the Immediate-Past President of the AICI New York Tri-State Chapter (Association of Image Consultants International). Her expertise lies in empowering individuals to present their best self in their professional and personal endeavors through wardrobe and image development, business etiquette, and communication skills training. Jacqueline's impressive background includes working as a marketing executive in the technology sector, and developing branding strategies for services, products and individuals. She is the Founder of JMP Image & Style, LLC.
